1972 - First WHA games played; the Québec Nordiques play their first World Hockey Association game, losing 2-0 to the Cleveland Crusaders; takes place in the Québec Colisée arena; the other game, in the Ottawa Civic Centre, the Alberta Oilers win 7-4 over the Ottawa Nationals.
