On This Day In Canadian History.... 1869 - Canadian government finally accepts terms of Rupert's Land Act of 1868; will acquire the territory once belonging to Rupert's Land which included all of Manitoba, most of Saskatchewan, southern Alberta, southern Nunavut, northern parts of Ontario and Quebec. A portion of Rupert's Land also included parts of Minnesota and North Dakota and very small parts of Montana and South Dakota.
