1967 - Expo 67 breaks attendance record of 42,973,561 set at the 1958 World's Fair in Brussels.
As an aside, in 1979, the aging grounds of Expo 67 and "Man and His World" made an appearance on the science fiction series "Battlestar Galactica", episode, "Greetings From Earth"

On This Day In Canadian History...
1969 - Federal Government to reorganize Canadian Armed Forces; 50% cut in NATO manpower; retirement of aircraft carrier HMCS Bonaventure. She served in the Royal Canadian Navy and Canadian Forces Maritime Command from 1957 to 1970 and was the last aircraft carrier to serve Canada.
Editorial Note: My late uncle, Bernie Dubois, served aboard the HMCS Bonaventure for many years, until it's decommission.
