A few interesting facts about Alexandrina Victoria (24 May 1819 – 22 January 1901) a.k.a Queen Victoria whose birth we celebrate today, giving us our first long weekend of the summer season:

At birth she was actually fifth in line for the British crown, after her grandfather, George III, her father's three older brothers, and her father. 


She was the last British monarch of the House of Hanover.


The Russian Tsar, Alexander I, was her fourth cousin. 


Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, her husband was also a first cousin.
