PharmerPhil, I hope you and your friend made out okay on Sunday. It was good to see you, Mr. Red, Critic, and Rockin' Woman these past two weeks at Bluesfest, and I'm glad most of you could join us in The Bear 106.9 Tower on Saturday evening. (I noticed that Critic still had an ear-phone on during part of the Jane's Addiction concert!) Pnnknn, you missed out on the fun! :-)

I posted a little of my experience with the Cheap Trick concert on the blog yesterday (a few more tidbits are on Radiowall from Toyslover and other members). Several minutes ago, I was watching Global TV (Calgary) and they had a short segment about the Bluesfest incident with some interviewed idiot trying to equate it to the 9/11 tragedy with the Twin Towers (absolutely pathetic). At least 3 people were hurt, one seriously with a puncture to the stomach, according to the news. (I had heard worse on site minutes after the event from an eye witness but was skeptical of his report so did not relay it ... he obviously saw the more seriously-injured person and jumped to conclusions).

It was scary to be a part of this incident. It was fortunate that the stage collapsed backwards and that the crazy winds did not last very long. For a moment or two, some of us who were in the big tent were wondering if we were hiding out in our coffin (that's how bad the winds were).

It's grumbling with thunder like crazy off and on right now outside so our power will probably go down shortly.

Mr. Red, you were smart to stay home today!
Mr. E.

Sad way to end Bluesfest yesterday and I hope all the injured people recover. We were 15 feet from the front of the stage (stage right) when it happened.
@Anonymous - thanks for inviting me up to the tower on Saturday and it was good seeing you and your bride again.
