1923 - Canadian National Railways sets up the first radio network in Canada by hooking up Montreal station CHYC with CNRO Ottawa over telephone lines to broadcast the CNR anniversary program. CNRO later became CBO in 1937 when ownership was transferred to the CBC

@ Trish - you never need to apologize for missing a bonus code, especially a pre-scheduled code. We're all human and have more important things in our life like sleep, jobs, family and any and all things that life throws at you, even minor distractions that draw you away from the radio for just a minute or two. After all when all is said and done, they're just points aimed at winning minor prizes from a local radio station.
@ All - Just in case anyone is not sure when the 1310 News Insider of The Day is announced, it's at 7:10am, 12:10pm, and 4:10pm. Until 1310 News gets it's act together, probably early in the new year, and starts giving away descent prizes and a Word of The Day to boost points, I would not overly worry about missing the Insider of The Day. A friendly notice to my KISS Blog friends, I will be going in the Ottawa River (at Britannia Beach) on Saturday aft at 2pm as part of the 2011 Polar Bear Dip to raise money for the PC Children's Charity fund. Come on out and either participate (weather is going to be tres mild) or just watch as it is quite an entertaining event. Am prepared to email the waiver and pledge forms to any interested dippers - just let me know.
