On This Day In Canadian History....
1918 - On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month a formal truce, signed earlier that morning, at 5am by French Field Marshal Foch and the members of the German Armistice Commission in Compiègne France took effect to end World War I
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders Fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders Fields.
- John McCrae

I've listened since Monday for the 1000pt Word of The Day/Secret Word/Password @ 8am, Noon and 4pm, and have yet to hear it. They kill the crap out of the Guaranteed High Temp of The Day every 10 minutes with the traffic, but they almost hide the Insider of The Day in the Noon News and totally ignore the thousand pointer.
I'm gonna give 'em til Monday, then send 'em a nasty e-mail with a request to also hire a new sound engineer 'cause it sounds like their broadcasting most of the time from a stall in the company washroom. CFRA on the other hand sounds about as crisp as an AM station can get...
How does that insider of the day work? Where do those names come from and what is the significance if your name is the insider of the day?
4pm VIP Song: Enrique Iglesias - I Like It

I think they are real listeners from the Insiders Club like today's winner. They are randomly drawn from the list of names of people who signed up. I heard something on the radio about them receiving 500 points in their account but I am not sure about that point.
As Mr Red indicated, today's insider of the day is a friend of a few of us (Mr Red, Mr E, critic, reggae) so now I will be keen to see the names over the next few weeks.
Very moving Remembrance Day ceremony in Kemptville this morning. Always nice to see neighbours, friends and military colleagues gathering in one place for such a solemn occasion.
Was there no early bird bonus code today?
8pm VIP song: Teenage Dream - Katy Perry
@ tulip - There is but just as Jeff was anouncing the code around 5:45pm I turned the car off ... I wasn't thinking! DOH.
