1964 - An unnamed 14,000ft mountain on the Alaska-Yukon border named Mt. Kennedy in memory of late U.S. President John Fitzgerald Kennedy. Its first ascent was in 1965 by JFK's brother Robert Kennedy, with a party of experienced mountaineers sponsored by the National Geographic Society.
