1913 - US barnstormer John Bryant killed when he crashes his Curtiss seaplane in Victoria, British Columbia; Canada's first air fatality. He was married to Alys McKey Bryant, who was the first woman pilot to fly in Canada, over Vancouver, in a Curtiss-type pusher biplane. She had made that first flight two weeks before John Bryant's accident.
