1980 - Ottawa gives financially strapped Chrysler Canada $20 million in loan guarantees, and Ontario provides a $10 million grant; the US also provided $1.5 billion in loans and subsidies to bail out Chrysler Corp, the parent company. Under the leadership of Lee Iacocca, the company will return to health and pay back the loans. Deja Vu
