  5. Good morning everyone!

So, no one won anything last night at Bayshore? I thought of going, but ended up not going. Not on a lucky streak right now anyway...

  6. Let me explain:
Didn't win the Rideau Centre $200 GC + sunglasses draw, didn't win the Downtown Rideau draw (Arts Court + Novotel & $500 GC for Rideau Centre), didn't win all the other contests I wanted to win!!!
So, I would have gone to Bayshore for nothin' too...

    For Radio draws:
Gee, how many ballots do we need to buy to win anything anyway??
    10 million!???
I don't have that many points...

Do you guys really think that the draws are random? My husband and I have won next to nothing in the almost 4 years that the Rogers station have been doing the points system. If the computer selects someone, who the station does not want to win (such as a known blogger) they can simply discard the selection and pick another name. If the station wanted to do the big prizes fairly they could set up a live web cam, like CFRA does for the major prizes. Also notice that the winner on the winning weekends on Kiss is almost always a female when the prize is female preferred and a male when it is male preferred. That is not a random draw by the true definition!

  24. BTW, Mr. E & everyone,
    Highly recommend these books:
"You can't win if you don't enter" by Carolyn Wilman.

Make sure you choose the Canadian edition. She also has an American version.
Carolyn lives in Oshawa, ON and
    owns the domain name:
    www.contestqueen.com

    Another must read is:
"Contesting! The Name It & Claim It Game" by Helen Hadsell, the woman who won every contest she entered.

    Helen Hadsell invented the SPEC
    motto:
    Select
    Project
    Expect
    Collect

  29. @ PitchingIn

You are really into this stuff! As far as SPEC goes ...

    Select
    Project
    Expect
    Collect

I always have the Expect feeling but I have got to really love that Collect element!

Hopefully these books are available at the library. If so, I'll check them out.

  31. Last freebie tip for the day:

Free Wi-Fi at Second Cup Across Canada

July 25 Update: Second Cup did indeed beat Starbucks to free Wi-Fi. They've had it up and running for free since September 2009.

    Good night everyone.
