A few interesting facts about Alexandrina Victoria (24 May 1819 – 22 January 1901) a.k.a Queen Victoria whose birth we celebrate today, giving us our first long weekend of the summer season:At birth she was actually fifth in line for the British crown, after her grandfather, George III, her father's three older brothers, and her father. She was the last British monarch of the House of Hanover.The Russian Tsar, Alexander I, was her fourth cousin. Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, her husband was also a first cousin.

ReplyDeleteYou mentioned in the past that you are a trivia fan. Did you ever try Majic 100's daily trivia challenge? I don't believe you'd have any problem winning it if you try.
Unfortunately (for you!), it's called "Red's Stupid Question Of The Day!" I won it the second time I played it. The problem with Majic 100 is you can't win again for another 2 months (I think) but still, hey, win it when you can! They have a lot of contests and my wife won a big one from them not too long ago (she seems to win more than I do but I do all the work). Check 'em out here:

ReplyDeleteYes, I am a trivia fan. I've been playing NTN/Buzztime Satellite Trivia at my favourite neighbourhood pub every Tuesday with a bunch of friends and competitors every Tuesday night for the last 20yrs. We play as 2 teams in the bar against each other and the bar plays against over 3000 bars on the satellite network.
We also enter 2 teams every year into the Champions for Children World Trivia Night, which we have won twice in the last 14 years it has been running. On average over 200 teams of 10 players enter this contest which has a Guinness World Record for being the largest one-day team trivia contest.
As for Majic100, I already have too many radio stations that I listen to on a regular basis. I normally listen to on an average day to CFRA (gotta have my Lowell Green fix), TEAM1200 (ditto Jim Rome) KiSS (full time on the weekend), CHEZ & Virgin and I do wanna give DAWG-Fm a chance when they start broadcasting in June. So, my radio listening card is quite full :-)
