Very interesting trivia as always, Mr. Red. I was curious to find out what that 1898 Winton automobile would be worth in today's terms as $1000 would've been an absolute fortune to almost all people over a century ago. According to MeasuringWorth and depending on the measure one uses, that car's price tag of $1000 in 1898 is equivalent to:
ReplyDelete$26,700 using the Consumer Price Index,
$23,400 using the GDP deflator,
$127,000 using the unskilled wage,
$204,000 using the Production Worker Compensation,
$189,000 using the nominal GDP per capita, or
$788,000 using the relative share of GDP
in 2009 U.S. dollars!
Anybody have Sunday's or today's Ottawa Sun? I'm looking for the password in the ad for the The Back-up Plan movie. Thanks in advance.
ReplyDeleteGood morning all and thanks for all the codes this weekend I was wholly adrift pretty well the whole time. The weekend was just too short!
ReplyDelete@Mr. E - will check when I pick up my paper around 6 am.
Thanks Pharmerphil. :)
ReplyDeleteHave gone thru the Ottawa Sun twice and I cannot find the ad let alone a password Mr. E. Any idea what section it could be found in the paper?

Hi Pharmerphil, darn, I was afraid of that. Sometimes the Sun only runs the movie ads sporadically; I bet it was only in Sunday's paper so far as this movie's ads have just started. Thanks for spending your time checking today's paper; if you didn't see it, it's not there today. :(

ReplyDelete@ Mr. E
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like fun, unfortunately, I will be out of the country during the first two weeks of May.
@ Mr. Red
The event actually gets you 250 points. Are they changing that permanently?
Connie, I think Kiss is the only Rogers station that gives you 250 points for the events (including the daily "live event"). The other stations give you only 100 points from my recollection.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Too bad you won't be around for the diamond ring hunt. I won't be able to participate either, but it would have been good for someone from our blog to be involved.
Correction: I just noticed that some of events for Kiss only give you 100 points, but at least a few of them give you 250 points once in a while. :)
ReplyDeleteis there a bonus code for the day today or has it not been aired yet?
ReplyDeleteIt's coming up, Pharmerphil!
ReplyDelete@ Connie & Mr. E.
ReplyDeleteI think they give out "extra" points for an event if they are the exclusive media sponsor
